Business, Law and Nursing programs among the best in latest U.S. News graduate rankings.
Programs of the Albers School of Business and Economics, the and the College of Nursing landed in the Top 30 in the latest U.S. News & World Report “Best Graduate Schools” rankings. In all, nearly two dozen programs at SU were noted by U.S. News as among the best in the nation.
“While rankings are just one metric, and an imperfect one at that, these represent external recognition of the excellence of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½,” says President Eduardo Peñalver. “Prospective students and their families pay close attention to rankings and we are proud to see our superb graduate and professional programs receive the recognition they deserve.”
The Albers School of Business and Economics had four programs ranked in the Top 30:
- Business Analytics (#16)
- Finance (#16)
- Executive MBA (#20)
- Accounting (#25)
“We are always honored to be recognized by peers and others for the quality of our graduate programs,” says Albers Dean Joseph Phillips. “It’s a credit to our outstanding faculty and staff who work with our graduate students.”
The School of Law checks in with three programs in the Top 30:
- (#6)
- (#16)
- Public Interest Law (#27)
The ranking in Part-Time/Flex Juris Doctor was SU’s highest-ever ranking for that program, highlighting the law school’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality legal training to working professionals.
“We continue to demonstrate a commitment to excellence across a range of vital legal fields,” says SU Law Dean Tony Varona. “This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of our faculty and staff in providing outstanding education and training for our students so they are well-prepared to enter practice after graduation.”
Additionally, the College of Nursing’s Nursing-Midwifery program was ranked tied for #20.
The Graduate Program rankings follow the release last September of the U.S. News Undergraduate Rankings that saw ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ ranked among the best national universities in several categories. Overall, ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ was the third highest-ranked university in the state in these rankings.
For example, SU was top ranked for best value of any institution in Washington state and is the highest ranked among private universities in the state for social mobility. ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ also ranked #63 nationally for “Most Innovative”—the only institution in Washington state recognized in that category—and #70 for undergraduate teaching, one of only two universities in the state to appear on that list, which recognizes the excellence and quality education SU faculty provide. The university was also recognized as one of the “Best Colleges for Veterans.”
