It was a footnote to the roller coaster 10 days that Anthony Scaramucci was the White House Communications Director. In a rant to a reporter Ryan Lizza, Scaramucci used the term "paranoid schizophrenic" as an insult. That, , should have resulted in support from the medical community.
Arash Javanbakht, director of the Stress, Trauma, and Anxiety Research Clinic (STARC) at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, Wayne State University, points out that it was especially ironic that this insult was issued during the same time that the Trump administration was making a run at overhauling the U.S. healthcare system.
And unfortunately, he notes that "the media, including professional medical societies of that nation, did not widely condemn this behavior."
